INGREDIENTS
Frites
1 pound frozen French fries
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste
Steak
4 New York strip steaks or other cut of steak
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Mayonnaise
1 cup light mayonnaise
1 shallot, fine dice
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon fresh chopped basil
1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven 375 degrees. Toss French fries in a bowl with olive oil and salt. Place on a baking sheet in one layer. Bake until crisp and brown, about 20 minutes. In 12-inch saute heat olive oil on medium-high. Season steaks with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare or to desired doneness. Combine mayonnaise, shallot, lemon juice, fresh herbs. Serve steak with fries and mayonnaise dipping sauce.
