Kids Rule: Offer options such as broccoli or edamame as a dinner side, before you start cooking. Once the kids come to a consensus, cook it up and prepare to watch it disappear! Ultimately, the control and (healthy) choice lies with them!
Dip It: Crudités are an amazing appetizer for kids. Carrot and celery sticks, snap peas and sliced bell peppers taste great solo or with a dip like light Hidden Valley Ranch or hummus. You can toss roasted or steamed veggies with lemon juice, sea salt and olive oil for some Mediterranean flair.
One Meal, Same Menu: We have raised our kids by having them eat what the adults eat and it has made the boys more adventurous eaters. I was also raised this way and think that's really what made my palate grow. This also means less prep, cooking and dishes for you. Everyone wins!
Have fun: Spice it up, cut it up and watch them eat up by putting a twist on the traditional fruit and veggies.
